David Jimenez

The son of a Spaniard and an Italian flamenco music teacher was already listening to radio mixes from Mr. Mike ‘Couleur 3’ and David Morales ‘Undergroundnyc.com’ at the young age of 13. His love for house music soon brought him to his first parties at ‘Go West' in Zurich where he met his mentor, the well known Swiss DJ, producer and club owner Kalabrese, who taught him the tricks of the turntables. It was also Kalabrese who got David his very first booking to play at the release party for the Zurich based label Stattmusik at the legendary club Rohstofflager.

In 2005 David remixed the Bush II Bush release ‘Piano Track' together with Danny Freakazoid that was released on Cr2 Records and went on to great success in the UK's Club Charts. 2007 sees not only his debut release, but also the launch of his very own recording imprint Tentigo. ‘Studio 69' the debut of both artist and label, is supported by remixes from Nick & Danny Chatelain and member of Claude Von Stroke's Dirtybird crew Worthy. In 2009 David returns with another outstanding single ‘Scirocco’ which is supported by remixes of Grammy winner Cedric Gervais and members of DJ Hell’s Gigolo crew LeNoir & Meriton. Following his last successful 'Scirocco' release for Tentigo comes David Jimenez’ follow up single ‘Barca’. Alongside the original comes a killer remix by La Factoria's boss and Spain's number one DJ and producer Wally Lopez which moves up to number 6 in the beatport main charts.

David’s career skyrocketed with festival gigs as Energy 2011 and 2013 (Hallenstadion Zurich), Q Club and his own party series ‘Masquerade’ in club Alte Börse, playing side by side with Axwell, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, David Guetta, Calvin Harris and many others. The A&R director from the well-established dance label Positiva Records, Jason Ellis, scouted David’s track ‘Neon’ for his imprint and released it on October 2012. Between 2011 and 2012 David finished his ‘Get No Sleep’ Compilation-CD-Tour. In 2015 David released his single ‘Gravity’, moving into 2016 Tom Novy released singles ‘Answers’ and ‘Hold on’ through his Nouveau Niveau Records. The same year he recorded with Pacha Ibiza Legend Matt Caseli the track ‘Stay together’ featuring the fantastic voice of Errol Reid who sang for Axwell’s ‘Nothing But Love for U’. Also with Matt Caseli he secured another single ‘Stronger’ on Pacha recordings in 2017 which was heavily supported by the Ibiza dj fraternity. March 2018 brings the crowning achievement with ‘Losing my Mind’ on Axwell’s pioneering Axtone Records Imprint. The title is a collaboration with Matt Caseli, Evan Landes aka Groove Junkies (Defected, MoreHouse) and the brilliant singer songwriter Alexander Polinsky who is a TV and movie personality in LA.
